A SINGAPOREAN teacher working in Cambodia was found dead in her home there yesterday, sparking a murder investigation.

Mrs Wendy Ng, 52, a relief principal at the Hope International School, was seen to have suffered head wounds when she was found in a room at her two-storey home in the province of Kampong Speu, west of capital Phnom Penh.

Pastor Sinai Phouek, the director of New Hope for Orphans in Cambodia, told The Straits Times that colleagues went to investigate when Mrs Ng did not turn up for work at the Christian school.

"They couldn't get through to her. They saw blood coming out from the room and tried to break open the door," he said, adding that she had a big head wound.

I'm shocked by the sudden death of sister Wendy Ng in Cambodia, as she had gone there for "teachings" - a way for her inner-calling to take place.

May the Truth be revealed and her soul can rest in Peace. Comfort those love-ones around her as they continue to draw strength from You!

Lord lift up the light of Your countenance upon us. The result was a gladness of heart that surpassed any earthly prosperity or success. Psalms 4:6-7.

The apostle Paul experienced danger and hardship as a missionary. He was imprisoned, shipwrecked and beaten. It's no surprise that his letters contained pleas for prayer. He asked the believers in Thessalonian to pray for success in spreading the gospel - that God's Word would "run swiftly and be-glorified" 2 Thess. 3:1 and that God would deliver him from "unreasonable and wicked men". Paul knew he would need to "open his mouth boldly and declare the gospel, which he needed strength.

Intercede for others in prayer; God's throne is always accessible.
